9/29/09 and beyond

At almost 37 weeks pregnant, I went into labor around 4AM on Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Owen Thomas Neve was born via cesarean section at 2PM the same day. (We chose the name to honor our grandfathers - Ralph Owens and Thomas Line.) He weighed 8lbs 4oz! Owen and I came home from the hospital that Friday and Mom Neve arrived for her two-week visit the same night. Mom Zywicki arrived for her week-long stay the day after Mom Neve departed. We were extremely thankful for the support during my recovery and adjustment. Considering Owen's unexpected birth day, the timing of family visits couldn't have been better. Plus, neighbors and friends were amazingly helpful before and after the Moms' arrival.

October went by in a bit of a sleep-deprived blur but Owen continued to grow by leaps and bounds. We also enjoyed a Halloween party with coworkers while Sara donned her Tinkerbell costume. For the first time, she actually wanted to play dress up! Sara was still uninterested in trick-or-treating, though.

Most recently, we got to host Thanksgiving for the Zywicki clan as well as Mom Neve. We all split our time between the house and two condos at The Flying L Resort in Bandera. Isaac, Emme and Sara very much enjoyed the resorts' playgrounds and we all enjoyed the change of scenery. Thankfully, the weather was perfect for outdoor walks, campfires, wagon rides, and nights on the town. It also allowed us to do an outdoor photo session with Elizabeth, my friend and an amateur photographer.
